Schindler's List (1993)

I don't know what to say about this movie. I had never seen it, so when I received it this spring I was eager to watch it. I find the subject of the Holocaust to be fascinating (not in a good way) because it's just astounding that this actually happened. It baffles the mind how this could occur on such a grand scale. I'm always watching shows on the history channel about WWII and the Holocaust and so I had very high expectations for this movie. So, I put it in my DVD player and sat down to watch a movie about a subject that I have a lot of interest in. Three hours later I felt as if every ounce of life had been sucked from my body. I was bored to death. I could never get emotionally attached to anyone in the movie. I know this sounds bad but I never felt sorry for anyone in this film. This film felt like it had no real vision or direction and it never bothered to develop any characters; everyone in the movie came across as wooden figures to me. Now comes the real question...

12 Angry Men (1957)

This film is superb, in fact as Shakespeare once said "Its the bees' knees". The film captivates the audience from the beginning. Each of the twelve jurors are introduced to us as they are introduced to themselves. The characters are well draw out and individual, each with his own personality. The tension of the characters draws the audience in from the start. We imagine that the case is open and shut, 11 me saying guilty and 1 not. We feel the discomfort of Henry Fonda as the other characters belittle and mock how he can see any reasonable doubt in the case. But we also share his victories and the enthusiasm as he proceeds to refute or add doubt to the arguments for guilty and are captivated and draw in as other jurors begin to see doubt in the proceedings. The audience can also see the arguments for guilty and wonder if Fonda's character is correct in saying that he doubts. Yet they also feel the shame of the characters as he disproves that a previously sound th...

The Godfather: Part II (1974)

The original Godfather is a brilliant work. It is in a sense a voyeuristic delight, allowing us to see the mafia from the inside - we become part of the family. It single-handedly change the world's view of organized crime, and created a cast of sympathetic characters, none of whom have a shred of common morality. It was the highest grossing movie of its time and Brando created a cultural icon whose influence resonates as strong today as it did in 1972. As extraordinary an achievement as this is, Part II is even better. It easily receives my nod as the best picture ever made. I have seen it at least 20 times, and each time its 200 minutes fly by. The movie uses flashbacks to brilliantly weave two tales. The main story is the reign of Michael Corleone as the world's most powerful criminal. Now reaping the benefits of legalized gambling in Las Vegas, Michael is an evident billionaire with an iron fist on a world of treachery. Behind this, Director Francis Ford Coppola spins...

Review movie Ghost in the Shell - Ghost Covers: What is left over?

Ghost in the Shell is expected to be a live-action blockbuster adapted from the classic Japanese anime / manga series. This is a Masamune Shirow series that is considered to be a symbol of the Japanese manga. This is a difficult "case" for director Rupert Sanders to be able to create a live-action spirit of the series. Movie content The plot revolves around Major Kusanagi Mira (Scarlet Johansson). A cyborg (half-human) actually has only her brain as the human brain, which is entirely machine-equipped with modern technology. As commander of Sector 9 Task Force, she has the task of preventing and blocking cybercriminals. The technology boom is accompanied by sophisticated criminal actions. If in the present world the hackers just stop at the level of sabotage, steal data, in the future they can completely control the brain of the "not quite human" as Major Mira to implement the Their schemes are undetected. The film's original plot has a lot of good ideas, b...

War for the Planet of the Apes - Not just a violent battle between him and Monkey

Not only the bloody battles between humans and monkeys as the audience expect, War for the Planet of the Apes also do more with intense internal tension. Planet of the Apes created a fever in 1968 by American cinema due to the revolution in content, turning humankind from a higher organism into a monster-dominated species. After many parts of the film came out and ended in 2001. It was not until 10 years later that Fox decided to "remake" the brand with Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 2014) and the latest installment of "War for the Planet of the Apes" (2017), which is a remake of the movie, not just a remake but a completely separate series. creatively and philosophically human. In the movie Justice League Justice has just launched last week, Barry Allen (The Flash) we are the first to show the movie. In the movie he is shown only super speed and creates electricity to activate the mother box. This invisible jointly reduced the importance of Barry in the Justice League just last week. Superman already, then we still need The Flash do? In DC comics, The Flash is faster than Superman and he has also twice defeated Superman in unofficial races. Flash can run so fast that it can go back to the past or travel to the future, which is why he is called "timeline fucker" - meaning that he is over and over again to make the island. flip past, present, future in time stream. Flash actually has other possibilities that he does not have the opportunity to sho...

Casino Heist - A touching story about fatherhood

Heist - Casino robbery is an exciting action film, not too breakthrough in terms of content but convergence of factors that make movie audiences feel satisfied in terms of entertainment. Review Rise of the Guardians - Never forget the baby in your heart

Every Christmas, I want to see this movie again. Not because of the context in the film, nor because of the snow goblins or the colorful Christmas presents. I watch the film, only to be resurrected, even in only a short 90 minutes, the feeling of being a child, strongly believe in the existence of Santa Claus, the Rabbit of Easter, of dreams Fairy tale. Rise of the Guardians is a story about mythical characters assigned to protect the innocence and imagination of children with all their might. Mudbound - A movie about the brightest color of the Oscars

Racial discrimination against people of color is one of the themes that Hollywood film societies often exploit and appreciate in the Oscars. Looking back on Oscar in recent years, in 2014, the film 12 Years a Slave won the best film of the year at the Oscars, by 2015 the film Selma was nominated, in 2017 has recently had two films are Moonlight and Fences was nominated, in which Moonlight won Best Film of the Year. At the upcoming 2018 Oscars, Mudbound is sure to be the brightest color film, next to the movie Get Out on the color theme. The film is based in a poor countryside in the Mississippi Delta, where muddy surroundings and intellectuals are still heavily influenced by racist ideology. At one farm, originally owned by the black-skinned Jackson grandfather who had been taken over by whites, the Jackson family had to work for the new owner of the White McAllan family. It is important that despite the differences in skin color, both Jackson and McAllan's children were enli...

[Review] All the Money in the World - A good start for the month of Oscar

If Mother! by Darren Aronofsky is the most divisive movie of the year, the 2017's flush will belong to All the Money in the World. In fact, little is known about the project until Kevin Spacey's scandal is over, just as Hollywood is heating up with sexual abuse. The scandal forced the two options, either to postpone, either continue to release as scheduled and accept high risk will be publicly boycotted. Finally, Ridley Scott's move showed his irony in the matter when the director decided to cut out all of Kevin Spacey's scenes, replacing Christopher Plummer and carrying out the rollback process. In 10 days, spending $ 10 million and pushing the $ 40 million limit. But looking at the quality of the film now, few people imagine it so difficult. John Paul Getty, the grandson of oil magnate John Paul Getty, is also the first American billionaire to have surpassed the wealth of his time. $ 1.2 billion. All the Money in the World has a very strong script, longer th...
