The Emoji Movie is an excellent family-comedy movie if not the best from Sony Pictures.
Hidden inside a smartphone, the bustling city of Textopolis is home to all emojis. Each emoji has only one facial expression, except for Gene, an exuberant emoji with multiple expressions. Determined to become "normal" like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his best friend Hi-5 and a notorious code breaker called Jailbreak. During their travels through the other apps, the three emojis discover a great danger that could threaten their phone's very existence. zmovies
The theater was crowded with people (especially with children and their parents) who despite of the extremely low ratings and the bad reviews challenged and saw this entertaining and hilarious movie.
A moving, intense, blockbuster that sets the bar high for other films

The Emoji Movie is a very powerful, moving film that showcased the capabilities of human emotion. It used groundbreaking technology to create stunning visual that would mesmerize viewers. This movie is suitable for all ages; whether you're 5 years old, or 50, you should go see this movie. It is inspiring and it showcases the spectrum of human nature and how humans use emojis to communicate with each other. You may have heard the saying a picture is worth a thousand words, but an emoji is worth a million. This movie revolutionized the film industry and set the bar high for other films. In the future historians will look back on this movie and regard it as the pinnacle of human achievement. It was a roller-coaster from start to finish, the nail-biting film will leave you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Viewers will find themselves absorbed by the heartwarming tale of a relentless, determined emoji who didn't let societies standards shape his/her/it's/wouldrathernotsay's life. I was shocked by how intense and gripping this movie was. The plot is rich, unpredictable and touching. Critics will find themselves's comparing this movie to some of the greats such as Saving Private Ryan and Fury. This isn't your typical war movie, this movie is a war with one's emotions. The Emoji Movie is a stirring masterpiece that only comes once in a millennium. This thrilling motion picture is a jaw-dropping performance that properly utilizes the medium. I rate this movie 1/1, and never watch it again as every time I get saddened by the the fact that there will never be a film to match this blockbuster
i thought it was really great

I'm tired of people friken saying the movie is bad, i thought it was really good, one of the best movies this year actually, and i don't care if people judge me, going to the movie i expected something bad, but the i got the idea out my mind and really enjoyed it, the media is a bitch, sorry for my language but it is, you cant let some you tube video or some famous person tell u when something is bad, that's the mistake i made, but i learned, make your own decisions people, don't rely on others to make em for u, stop being misled so easily, u don't haft to agree with other people, its not going to help u get popular, that's why were all becoming dumber, anyway i thought it was good, also its towards kids so if your under like 16 u have a bigger chance of liking it, so most of the people who said its bad either were misled by videos or are over 16, so yeah, make your own choices people, and this was mine.
Please don't hate this movie just because it's got emojis. It has really good animation and voice actors.

I could justify all the hate this movie gets if it's because Wreck It-Ralph and Inside Out did everything this movie did first. But me and my mom are in the 3% of people who still like this movie. If you kept an open mind for The Lego Movie, you'll probably keep an open mind for this movie as well. Did you know that the movie's slogan at the end of the credits is "Be Moved?" This movie succeeded at doing just that for me. Inside Out and Zootopia honestly never made me feel as many emotions as this movie did. >>> hulu blacklist
This movie is way more overhated than Ghostbusters 2016, not that I found that movie to be abysmal either. I really liked having TJ Miller and Anna Faris and Patrick Stewart in this movie. The only people missing from the voice cast that this movie could have used were if Ashleigh Ball was a fierce fire emoji that sounded like Rainbow Dash and if Andrea Libman was a cheerful party hat that sounded like Pinkie Pie. Maybe they'll be in The Emoji Movie 2! I can't wait for that.
Without spoiling any of the plot, I can say that this movie had 1 good message that might have been missing from Inside Out: People in real life don't want to act 1 way all the time, and that's the point of emojis in this film. Gene and Jailbreak are both emojis who want to accomplish the same goal of being an emoji with more than 1 expression, more than 1 character trait. That point was absent in Inside Out because it was just...Joy and Sadness want each other to see things from each other's perspective, but none of the emotion people on their own want to be a different emotion and they are the actual emotions of a person. Since The Emoji Movie takes place in a smart phone that is not connected to the human body and all of the emojis are their own person instead of another person's innate emotions, that gives the plot and characters a little more depth and flexibility to...not just act one way, which is what Dark Knight Court did with Bart and Mr. Burns. Plus, almost every face emoji is the same color, unlike with Inside Out.
It's also got the concept of Wreck-It-Ralph of the main character not wanting to be one thing and traveling between different video games or apps. Ralph doesn't just want to be a villain and Gene doesn't just want to be Meh because he has tons of facial expressions, like many good actors do. Maybe that's what made this one of TJ Miller's more interesting roles.
So if you still hate this movie, then that's fine, but don't have it come out of nowhere just for the sake of hating a movie based on Emojis. What if you actually like The Lego Movie in spite of it being based on Legos? Let's be real: Would you rather watch this glorious movie about Emojis learning to be well-rounded characters, or Stressed Eric, the torture porn series where the main character always fails, that in itself failed to make British humor work for American audiences?
However, if there was anything I had to say in response to why the film is so hated, it's more hated for what it didn't do than what it did do. It really should have done more with Alex instead of having Gene, Hi-5 and Jailbreak going through games most of us already use that they easily could have gone around. I hope The Emoji Movie 2 doesn't insult us this much and has a more interesting plotline. If you had any faith in The Emoji Movie or believed that it could have worked, I would suggest sending a letter to Tony Leondis telling him how he can avoid these problems in case there is an Emoji Movie 2. There may not be a sequel, but it's good to give writing improvement tips anyway. How about making Gene and Hi-5 visit the emojis on Addie's phone?
